What are Antioxidants

Supplements and VitaminsWhen we breathe, oxygen causes a certain amount of oxidizing particles called free radicals, which are responsible for cell aging. In addition, we are exposed to environmental toxicants (snuff, pollution and pesticides) that our natural defenses become insufficient and can damage our cells and even alter genetic material.

Antioxidants play a protective role against free radicals, to counteract their action and somehow stop this process. It is therefore important to increase our reserves by incorporating into our diet. But then, what are antioxidants?

Found in foods with pro-vitamin A or beta carotene, such as fruits and vegetables, orange / yellow, tangerine, orange, lemon, pumpkin, carrots, pumpkin. We can also consume foods rich in Vitamin E, such as avocado, seeds and sunflower oils, soybeans and nuts.
