Symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) generally occurs when the days shorten in autumn. You may feel sad and tired, wanting more sleep than usual, like sweet or starchy snacks. Increase exposure to natural light can help SAD sufferers, there are several ways you usually do:
- try as much as possible outside in the winter. Even on overcast and cloudy day you still get natural light.
- Set the condition of your home or office so that natural light exposure as much as possible. Work near a window if the bias. Cut trees or bushes that block the light into the house.
- Several people helped with the treatment beam. This is a special light box that emits very bright light. Some boxes simulate dawn morning light. This light box is usually expensive, discuss with your doctor before you buy this equipment.
- If possible, go to a tropical country for vacations in the winter.
